Self-centered, or God-centered?
Friday September 25, 2015
Advice for the self centered life:
- Follow your dreams
- Work hard
- Believe in yourself
Advice for the God-centered life:
1. Follow Jesus
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.
– Matthew 16:24 NLT
2. Serve God
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
– Colossians 3:23-24 NLT
3. Believe in God
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
– Proverbs 3:5 NLT
Heavenly Father change me.
Spirit of the living God
Fall afresh on me
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me
Spirit of the living God
Fall afresh on me
Spirit of the living God
Fall afresh on me
Make us one in heart and mind, makes one in love
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me
Spirit of the living God fall afresh on me.
A Hymn by Daniel Iverson.
