The Plan

Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do bad things happen to well intentioned people? Why did Jesus allow Judas to betray Him? How come Jesus never attempted to escape from those who unjustly arrested Him? Why did He not defend Himself from the false accusations of a group of evil intentioned people? Why did He not speak up when Pilot turned Him over without a trial? Why didn’t he raise an army to protect Him? Why did He allow the people to disrobe and mock Him as they led him to the cross? Why did they nail His hands to the cross instead of just tying His wrist? I don’t really know why. But what I do know is that if none of these things had happened he would have been crucified anyway, even if He had to make His own cross and nail Himself to it. Do you know why? Because that was God’s plan.

Acts 2:23-24 NLT

23But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him. 24But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip.

Jesus’ tragic circumstances were no accident; they were not the result of a fatal error, or the result of a series of horrible and coincidental circumstances. Jesus’ horrible death on the cross was the direct result of God’s prearranged plan to save you and me. Do you know what this means? That God intentionally gave life to the tree that would eventually become the cross Jesus was hung from. That God intentionally placed the iron in the ground that would be used to make the nails that would pierce Jesus’ hand and feet. But more importantly it means that the cross wasn’t a tragedy, it means the cross was God’s prearranged plan, because he loved you and me.

John 3:16 NLT

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

When bad things happen to you and even when your best intentions end up producing bad results, remember that God will use all these things to achieve His plan and purpose for your life, because He loves you.

Romans 8:28 NLT

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Its simple, even in the difficulties and hardships of life God is executing His plan for your life, because He loves you.

Thank you God for creating a plan that includes me. You suffered and I gained. I don’t know how that works but I’m glad to benefit from the amazing things that you do. There is no one greater or more powerful than you.
