Based upon the answers to these questions, for most people the answer would be:

  1. COMPLICATED

Living complicated lives creates problems. It can lead to all sorts of relational, physical, emotional, and even spiritual problems. I know all too well the negative results of living an overwhelmed, overscheduled, and exhausted lifestyle. The interesting thing is, Christ showed up in this world not only to save us but to also simplify our lives.

Matthew 11:29

Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your soul.

We tend to believe that by organizing and reorganizing external matters, our lives will become simpler. However, according to Jesus, the problem lies in what is taking place inside of us, in our souls, and not in what is happening around us. According to this Scripture, all we need to do simplify our lives is to make a trade. All we need to do is to hand over what burdens us and take up what burdens Jesus. There is a promise if we do this, we will finally find what we so desire, rest for our soul.

Heavenly Father, help me to live the simplified life that is offered to me through your son Jesus. I ask you to bring rest to my soul as I remove my yoke and accept yours. As I choose to prioritize what burdens you, I know you will handle what burdens me.
