3 Habits That Can Save Your Life

Before I get into today’s post I must begin by making a confession. So, let me get right to it. I have contributed to every single bad decision I’ve ever made. I’ve convinced myself to spend money I should have not spent, to ingest calories I should have not ingested, I’ve talked myself out of some good habits and I’ve even talked myself into some bad ones too. There’s not been a single bad decision in my life that I did not contribute to. Now, with my confession out of the way I can write what I wanted to communicate to you today, so here we go. The truth is that you have contributed to every single bad decision that you’ve ever made; there’s not been a single bad decision in your life that you did not contribute to.

Studies have concluded the almost 50% of all the decisions you made and will make have been predetermined by your habits. If you’ve developed good habits you can expect at least 50% of your decisions to be good decisions. But, if you’ve developed bad habits you can expect half of your decisions to be bad decisions. Therefore, living a successful life will be predetermined by the habits you’ve developed, and you’ve probably developed some good habits and some bad habits too. Now, understanding the power of habits and being that we have all of this extra time being in lockdown, is a great opportunity to break some bad habits and develop some new ones.

I’d like to give you three habits that will most definitely transform your life and help you to survive the pandemic.

  • Seek God and his strength

Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. – 1 Chronicles 16:11 NLT

  • Seek God and live.

God’s message to the family of Israel: “Seek me and live. Don’t fool around at those shrines of Bethel, Don’t waste time taking trips to Gilgal, and don’t bother going down to Beer-Sheba. Gilgal is here today and gone tomorrow and Bethel is all show, no substance.”  So seek God and live! You don’t want to end up with nothing to show for your life but a pile of ashes, a house burned to the ground. – Amos 5:4-6 NLT

  • Seek God and don’t worry

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘what will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. – Matthew 6:31-33 NLT
