What a woman might say…

Did you forget to pick up the milk again? By the way this room is a mess, can’t you at least put your dirty clothes in the hamper? I am not your maid! ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME? You told me that you were going to change the light bulb in the kitchen, if you don’t change it right now don’t expect to get any dinner tonight!

What a man hears?

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…Are you listening to me? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah… No dinner tonight!

HE WHO HAS EARS, LET HIM HEAR

The most important factor in our lives is the ability to hear God’s voice. In the four Gospels combined, the phrase, “he who has ears let him hear” appears seven times. Believe it or not God is constantly speaking, the question is, are you listening to him? There are many voices speaking, if you want to hear his voice you must practice focused hearing.

5 Steps to focusing on hearing God’s voice:

  1. Withdraw,Jesus regularly withdrew himself to lonely places to focus on hearing his Heavenly Father. You must learn to find a quiet place, with the least amount of distractions, where you can focus on listening to God.

  1. Wait Silently, “My soul, wait in stillness, only for God – for from Him comes my expectation.” – Psalms 62:6 TLV Rushing does not allow you to fully focus on listening to what God wants to say to you.

  1. Read your Bible, God’s preferred way of speaking is through the Bible. Don’t wait to hear a voice, focus on a verse or chapter.

  1. Write, write down any insights you might receive, it will help you to remember and stay focused on what God has spoken to you.

  1. Review regularly, at times God will speak to your future. You might be asking God to speak to you, but if you regularly review you’ll see that He had already spoken to you in the past.
