Better Physically
Life is good but it should be better. The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” But sadly, many people will never see better and ironically not because of lack of dedication. But rather because they never took out time to take care of themselves physically.
Some years ago, I met a gentleman who immigrated to the US from Haiti who worked very hard to build a better life for himself. He worked long hours and saved every penny he possibly could. He took no vacations and would eat inexpensive meals because he was waiting for the day he retired to fully enjoy a better life. But less than a week before his retirement he suffered a massive heart attack which instantly claimed his life. How tragic, this was a man who had worked his way out of extreme poverty but sadly, he neglected to take care of himself physically. He had poor eating habits, did not exercise and got very little rest and because of this he never got to enjoy the fruit of his labor.
“Physical training is GOOD, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” – 1 Timothy 4:8 NLT
If you want to better in any area of your life, you must take care of the most important asset that you possess, yourself.
Better yourself physically
Eat Healthy – Develop healthy eating habits and drink lots of water.
Exercise – at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week.
Rest – Get the proper amount of sleep and separate one day out of the week to rest.
When we take care of ourselves physically the body recovers, repairs and restores itself, allowing us to grab hold of those better things that God has prepared for us.
